Stefano Marzano The chief designer of Philips had a meeting with Alberto and Alessandro Mendini in March 1992 at a secret location in the Netherlands.
In 1994, the production of four kitchen appliances followed objects (a toaster, an electric kettle, a citrus juicer and these coffee/tea making facilities). These were launched in the newly opened Groninger Museum in the Netherlands (Mendini was the Chief designer of the Groninger Museum).
When Philips introduced the latest household appliances in the Alessi line in October in the Groninger Museum, the company spoke of ' trendsetters in the field of kitchen appliances '. The designs of the Italian designer Alberto Alessi would bring ' design fans and gastronomes into ecstasy '
The collection received many design prizes and was already sold out.
Products from this series are included in the collection of San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
SFMOMA together with many other international museums.
