Designed in 2012 for Alessi Italy by Marcel Wanders, the Fatman Cake Stand. This multifunctional stand is the first object from a series that later became known as ''Circus''. Marcel Wanders refers here to his light-hearted alter ego as Clown. For the first time a technique was used whereby the steel remained visible between the applied colors. When closed, the Fatman can serve as a decoration, when opened, it servers as a useful stand (or tray). When seen as such, the item stops being a simple folding stand, as it does not cease to have a function if closed, but instead becomes an entirely other item.
The folding stand is in new and unused condition. Delivered with original packaging and documents.
