Michel Boucquillon & Donia Maaoui - Alessi - Bottle Rack - ''Barkcellar''

Doe een bod

The ''Barkcellar'' bottle rack was designed by Michel Boucquillon and Donia Maaoui in 2017 for Alessi.

This is an object with an expressive design, an item of interior furnishing capable of enhancing the value of its setting - whether in the home or outside it - wherever it is used. Thanks to its well-proportioned dimensions, it can be placed on a countertop or even left on the floor. “Barkcellar” can store up to 5 bottles of wine (four inside and one on top). The size of the bottle housings was defined according to the most commonly used bottle models on the market, up to a maximum diameter of 90 centimetres.

Produced at the company's factory in Crusinallo, Omegna, this bottle rack demonstrates Alessi’s skill in processing steel. Through various processing stages, metal sheet is cut, laser perforated, bent and finally welded to obtain the organic and sinuous shape desired by the designers. Unrivalled manufacturing expertise is needed to use steel to create an object on to which organic and natural memory can been impressed.

The designers drew their inspiration from their home, Casa Boucquillon: it is a place for experimentation,
meditation and work where they can live in synch with nature. The perforated pattern of the “Barkcellar” bottle rack recalls the bark on the trees that surround the house. The result is a strongly poetic collection where every individual object proves to be, either in shape or in function, in continuous and harmonious dialogue with nature.

This ''Barkcellar'' bottle rack is in new condition and never been used. Delivered with original packaging.
